Power Electronics Application in Electric Vehicle Technology
Graduates of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NITK Surathkal, are actively sought by leading national and multinational organisations, reflecting the department’s strong academic foundation and the versatility of its curriculum. The department has a consistent record of outstanding placements, with the B.Tech programme regularly achieving placement rates above 90%.
The M.Tech programmes are especially valued by core industry. In 2025, M.Tech graduates were recruited by semiconductor and electronics leaders such as Texas Instruments, Infineon Technologies, onsemi, TE Connectivity and Honeywell Technology; energy and power majors such as Siemens Energy and SLB; automotive and electric mobility companies including Renault Nissan Technology, MAN Truck & Bus, Bajaj Auto and Ola Electric; engineering consultancies such as Burns & McDonnell, WSP and Cyient; and industrial and cleantech firms including Hospet Steels and Minimines Cleantech Solutions. Many of these roles are in research, design and development, drawing directly on the advanced technical and research training students receive in the department. Graduates also go on to doctoral studies and academic careers at reputed institutions in India and abroad.
